Holiday Open House at the Cathedral of Learning

Members of the English Conversation Group accompanied by Peter, my husband, and Amanda Smith the Reference Librarian

On December 26, 2009, the English Conversation Group had the opportunity to attend the Cathedral of Learning's Annual Holiday Open House. Once a year the Cathedral opens its 26 Nationality Rooms, which are elaborately decorated for the holiday season, to the public free of charge. The entire interior of the cathedral is filled with the food, dance and hand goods of the many ethnicities that are represented within. We spent our afternoon delighting in the sights and sounds of many countries and cultures, but the highlight of our afternoon was touring the Nationality Rooms one by one. We are hoping to attend this event again next year and make it a tradition of our own.
